Undeterred by the change in weather, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go once again proved why he is known as Mr. Malasakit as he led a motorcade through Butuan City on Saturday, May 3, reaffirming his dedication to bringing government services directly to those in need—especially the poor and those in remote areas.
Joined by fellow “Duter-TEN” senatorial candidates such as Phillip “Ipe” Salvador, Go personally greeted residents as they went around various barangays to personally connect with the people. The warmth of Butuanons was felt throughout the city despite the gloomy skies, with citizens lining the streets to wave, cheer, and snap selfies with the senator and his allies.
Go said while emphasizing that public service should remain unhampered regardless of the situation.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Go emphasized that medical assistance must be accessible to all Filipinos. Lahat ng Pilipino, lalo na ang mahihirap, ay dapat may access sa maayos na serbisyong pangkalusugan,” he added, underscoring his push for more Malasakit Centers, Super Health Centers, and Regional Specialty Centers across the country.
As part of his long-standing advocacy to uplift underprivileged Filipinos, Go took time to interact with small vendors along the motorcade route—personally buying local products such as peanuts, singkamas, papaya, and his favorite, mangoes. Suportahan natin ang sariling atin,” he added.
The motorcade culminated in a campaign rally later that day, where the complete slate of Duter-TEN senatorial candidates was acknowledged. These include:
- Jimmy Bondoc (#10)
- Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa (#22)
- Bong Go (#28)
- Atty. Jayvee Hinlo (#30)
- Atty. Raul Lambino (#34)
- Congressman Atty. Rodante Marcoleta (#38)
- Doc Marites Mata (#42)
- Pastor Apollo Quiboloy (#53)
- Atty. Victor Rodriguez (#56)
- Phillip “Ipe” Salvador (#58)
Go and his fellow candidates reaffirmed their commitment to continue the legacy of former President Rodrigo Duterte. Among their priorities are improving healthcare, providing more jobs, boosting livelihood opportunities, building infrastructure, and implementing key development programs in Mindanao.
Furthermore, Go, who chairs the Senate Committees on Health, on Sports, and on Youth, reiterated his commitment to continuing his pro-poor initiatives.
Sipag, pagmamalasakit, at more serbisyo po ang puwede kong i-alay sa inyo,” he concluded. ###
